Located out of the main clubhouse at the Argyll Velodrome in Edmonton, Juventus is a cycle club with a long history of racing - track, road, cyclo-cross and mountain - and made possible by our great volunteering, excellent coaching and a large membership of masters level riders, plus many up-in-coming youth riders that have progressed through our youth development programs.

The Edmonton Juventus Cycling Club annual general meeting and year-end awards banquet will be held on November 22nd starting at 1pm. The AGM will take place first, with the awards banquet and dinner to follow.

CCA Announces Jr. Men Selection for Cross Worlds

The Canadian Cycling Association is pleased to announce the athletes who have been selected to represent Canada at the 2010 UCI Junior Cyclo-Cross World Championships being held in Tabor, Czech Republic from January 30th to the 31st, 2010.

UCI Masters Track Worlds Results

Peter Toth and Doug Cameron are competing in Australia at the Masters Track Worlds this week - Peter in the 45-49 age category and Doug in the 55-59 age category. Results for the 21st to 23rd:
  • Day 1 ITT: Peter (750m) - 28th place, Doug (500m) - 13th
  • Day 2 Individual Pursuits: Peter (3K) - 8th place, Doug (2K) 8th place
  • Day 3 Scratch Finals: Peter (10K) - 2nd place, Doug (7.5K) - 8th place

Juventus riders place well in Toronto

Shawn Adamson, Pepper Harlton and Mackenzie Carson all raced well today at the Toronto International Cyclo-Cross UCI C1 race. Pepper and Mackenzie both finished 5th place in their respective Elite Women and Junior Men fields with Shawn placing 34th in the Elite Men field, one lap down.

Pepper finished 1:43 behind Natasha Elliot (Garneau) and the 2/3/4 placings of Linda Sone, Kristin Wentworth and Kaitlin Antonneau from the Planet Bike cycle team in a field of 20 competitors. Mackenzie finished 1:24 off front runner pace of Evan McNeely, Karl Hoppner and Conor O'Brien of the EMD Serono/Specialized team and Sam Rykhoff (Bikesports) in a field of 19 competitors.
 
ABA General Meeting, November 7th

The Alberta Bicycle Association is holding their annual general meeting on November 7th. If you wish to attend you are, of course welcome. Check the ABA website for details. If you cannot attend, but wish to vote in the elections. I am able to do that for you provided you sign a proxy form. If we cannot connect to sign the form,  it is acceptable for you to email or fax a copy of your signature.

Early results from Toronto, Day 2

Early reports from Canadian Cyclist today have Pepper Harlton finishing in third place behind Natasha Elliot (Garneau) and Kaitlin Antonneau (Planet Bike) in the Elite Women race and Mackenzie Carson placing fourth in the Junior Men race. Mackenzie finished behind the three EMD Serono/Specialized teammates again today (Evan McNeely, Karl Hoppner and Conor O'Brian - finish placing not known at this time) after some blistering 3 vs. 1 team tactics on the front that saw the top four riders lap the other 18 starters.
