Welcome to the Juventus Cycling Club website!

Located out of the main clubhouse at the Argyll Velodrome in Edmonton, Juventus is a cycle club with a long history of racing - track, road, cyclo-cross and mountain - and made possible by our great volunteering, excellent coaching and a large membership of masters level riders, plus many up-in-coming youth riders that have progressed through our youth development programs.

Whether your riding is for fitness or you have racing goals to train for, Juventus is a great club to ride with like-minded cyclists!

Luckily for you, the Juventus Cycling Club has reached a partnership agreement with a group of Specialized Strength Specialists to help you build Stamina Strength and Speed for the upcoming season. This weekend we will have an introductory program where our SSS consultants will guide you through a Specific Set of Skills designed to optimize the remainder of your year. The introductory program will run on Saturday morning at 10:30am and focus on the basis of all of SSS programs, Shoveling, Snowblowing and Scraping the Velodrome.

Please bring a shovel or your favourite snow removing device (this may  include your kids). The good news is that there isn't that much snow this year!

The Argyll Velodrome Association is having its annual CASINO on April 9 and 10th. This casino is 100% volunteer oriented and the money generated from it pays for all the operating costs of the velodrome itself. I will be calling every member to see their availability but if you know you are available please send me an email and I’ll sign you up. Remember, these casino moneys are what makes having our clubhouse and facilities possible – your participation is essential.

We would like to let you know that the 2011 carding criteria and event bidding documents for track have been updated on the CCA website.  Please refer to the following links: We are also working on details for the 2010 Track National Championships.  We are working towards an event that encompasses all categories in 2011; however, due to the 2010 international calendar we will be hosting two National Championship events, both in Bromont, Quebec.  We are currently working on a schedule, but the tentative dates are:
  • U17, Junior, Para from July 8-11, 2010
  • Master and Elite from August 25-29, 2010
Select juniors will be invited to participate in the Elite championships, as well as the junior championships and will forward more information as details become finalized. As for the Master category, we would like to see the number of participants increase significantly.  Should you have ideas on how to entice more Masters to compete, please let me know.

Sadly our friend John Stephen passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 18th. John, known to many as the patient, gentle man who was always there to help fix a tire, true a wheel, set up gears, make you a coffee or simply provide encouragement, personified the image of Juventus and of cycling.  He will be missed.
