Juventus Cycling Club honourary lifetime member and current LAMP coach Alex Steida will be recognized for his exceptional contribution to cycling. Alex will be inducted into the Canadian Cycling Hall of Fame, on October 2nd 2016, in conjunction with the Canadian Track Cycling Championships and Milton International Challenge.
In order to initiate the Canadian Cycling Hall of Fame, Cycling Canada formed a Working Group to develop the Hall of Fame concept and process, and bring it to fruition.
The Working Group developed a curated list of 21 cycling alumni to be considered for the Hall of Fame class of 2016. The votes, both from the Working Group and the public were cast, and six were chosen for the honour – four in the Athlete Category, one in the Early Era Category and one in the Builder Category.
Alex will join LAMP namesake and Juventus honourary lifetime member Lori-Ann Muenzer (inducted in 2015) in the Canadian Cycling Hall of Fame.
