Juventus junior Devaney Collier was one of five Canadian girls recently competing at the 2016 Junior World Track Cycling Championships in Aigle, Switzerland. Devaney was part of a 4th place (and Canadian record) performance in Junior Women's Team Pursuit (TP), as well as a silver medalist in the Scratch Race.
The girls team had the 4th best time in TP qualification heats. In Round 1 they raced in Canadian record time, but were bested by the World Record holding and eventual Junior World Champion Italians. They were slotted against France the in the Bronze medal final, and caught with 2 laps to go, finishing in 4th.
In the Scratch Race, with 5 laps left, Devaney launched an explosive attack, attempting to catch the GB rider who had been off the front for much of the race. The pack was unable to match Devaney's effort and she finished with a strong silver.
