News regarding Covid 19 and start dates

March 23, 2020

I would like to wish all of you the best during this trying time. COVID19 has been a challenge for all of us; mentally, emotionally, physically and for some - financially. By taking the proper precautions now, it is my hope we will get through this as safely as possible. Alberta Health Services has given all of us guidance regarding social distancing and self-isolation protocols.

The Juventus Cycling Club will do what we can to support our community by following AHS recommendations. This is how Juventus is ensuring we are compliant with AHS recommendations:

  1. We have closed the clubhouse to all group or individual training sessions.

  2. We have moved all coached athletes to a distant program format.

  3. We will not be sanctioning any group rides within the club.

How are LAMP and Sprockids affected? At this point, we have decided not to cancel either program given the fact that the first day of these programs is still several weeks
away. However, anyone who has registered for LAMP or Spockids can request a full refund. For those willing to be patient, our intent is to go forward with these programs, but with a delayed start date. In effect, we would roll the program calendar forward for our programs.

This can only be done after AHS has determined social distancing is no longer required, and that it is safe to resume group activities. Here is a link for current AHS updates: novel coronavirus (COVID-19) Information for Albertans.

We will continue to update you as things move forward. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me, any one of the other executive members, or your prospective program directors.

Take care and stay safe
