Juventus exodus . . .
As March leaves in a mix of lamb and lion, many Juventus are heading elsewhere for outdoor riding.
Our juniors and U23s are off to Penticton for a one week blitz of training - with lots of hill work, fun and good food.
Our lone U23 woman is in California testing the health system and tackling races with the pros.
We have two aspiring track juniors ready to rip up the Junior Pan Am track trials in Los Angeles on the first weekend in April.
Finally, we also have some folk able to get in a week of sunny Arizona riding.
An extra dose of good luck and happy riding to all of you!
Sunday March 23 deadline for track kit order
You have to ask yourself, "Do I want to be a 10 on the awesome kit scale?" If you answered, "Well of course I do!", then you only have a couple of days to respond to the email sent to club members a week ago. Note, these are adult sizes.
66 Sprockids Now Registered!
The Sprockids 2014 edition is off to a great start. We have 66 Sprockids registered for the Spring program after the first 14 days of registrations.
We will be opening the program up to a wider audience in the coming week, so if you are a returning Sprockid, please get your registration in early.

Casino Dates (mark your calendar now)
Every 18 months or so, Juventus Cycling Club provides volunteers to assist with 2 days of casino. The funds then allotted to Juventus enable us to have coaches, buy equipment, run youth cycling programs, support our clubhouse, support athletes and much more. All for 2 days of volunteer time spread among our membership. What an excellent return on time invested.
Juventus Casino Friday/Saturday, August 15/16. Mark it down now.
Track Kit order
An order for track specific Juventus kit will be happening soon. All members will have received an email and all you need to do is reply to that email with your heart's desire. Reply by Sunday March 23.
Sprockids registration is open!
Please find a description of the Sprockids program on the Programs menu bar.
Need for climate controlled rides diminishes!
It has been a long winter with dedicated cyclists putting in miles to nowhere. Can you believe the warm weather is finally doing its job and we are nearly into the outdoor season?! It is true and that means you have just enough time to tune up your bike and prepare for . . . the spring series (it starts on April 27th) . . . BLTM . . . trail rides . . . and all your heart's delights.
Thanks to John for making the time change on Sunday a little easier with a delish carrot cake and another really tasty cake made with dates and almonds etc. ( We need the recipe for this one! And even Pepper can enjoy it!)

2013 Fitness Tax Credit
2013 Fitness Tax Credit receipts have been emailed to LAMP, Sprockid, and Junior members that were born in 1997 or later. Please contact the Juventus Membership Coordinator if you did not receive an expected credit.
What really cold weather can lead to . . .
Well, apparently when the weather gets extremely cold, Juventus feels the need to get on that ride going nowhere. The wind chill took temps outside somewhere south of -40C/F, but inside rollers and trainers were humming. We had the CT room at capacity and a full contingent of 20+ enjoying a Sunday morning rollerfestivus. Hang in there - supposedly the weather is about to warm up and +1C will feel tropical. Next weekend the clocks go ahead and the temp will increase. Get ready for clear roads and a visible blue line!
Progress on Edmonton's Indoor Velodrome!
Here is your opportunity to check out the design thus far of the Indoor Velodrome that will be part of the Coronation Community Recreation Centre in Coronation District Park.
Citizens are invited to drop-in, review and provide feedback on the schematic designs for Coronation Community Recreation Centre and Coronation District Park.

Countdown to Junior Track Pan Am Trials!
We have at least two juniors, Evan Burtnik and Anna Talman, in the process of preparing for the Junior Track Pan Am Trials to be held in Los Angeles on April 5th and 6th. Cycling Canada's Time Standards for this event are very challenging and motivating; keep up the great work Juniors!
Check out the feature article on Juventus in Canadian Cycling Magazine.
The latest edition of Canadian Cycling Magazine highlights some of what our club is all about. The article is on page 27. I wish I could just put up the article here, but for now there is the online edition or the news stand copy. Keep your eye on the bulletin board because it may show up there.
6 spots left in LAMP!
If you are considering riding with LAMP this year . . . the countdown is on! You had better decide soon or you may be sad. Register now.
