It was an amazing night at track league. Three rogue LAMP riders showed up and now C's has become extremely fun and quite sneaky. Great to see everyone riding, especially all who did the first Madison of the season. It can only get better!
First the shoulder check.
Wait for it . . .

The Sprockids had a great showing at the first ABA Trailblazers race of the season. Hosted by Hardcore Kids at the Sunridge Ski area, the race was an awesome blend of singletrack and hills.
Sprockids took the podium in every one of their race categories: Little Ripper boys , Little Ripper girls, Gnarly boys, Gnarly girls, Geared boys, and Geared girls. Truly great racing!

Sprockids and LAMP kids will be there to take on the competition.
All kids are invited, so bring your friends for a great day of racing.

Juventus was represented with multiple racers in A, B, and C categories. Word on the street is that Juventus is not afraid to work hard in the group - what the heck, it's the Spring Series. Let's hope the weather holds for tomorrow!
The Argyll Velodrome was the scene of what can best be described as the razor edge between chaos and controlled anarchy. Annually this mayhem that is the bike fit night, takes place to usher in the new LAMP season . With forty-five participants vying for their road and track bikes for the season, it may have appeared from an outsider that the scene was akin to a train wreck. From an insiders view it wasn't much different.
Kids ranging from less than four feet to almost six feet, showed up with keen interest to see what shinny race ready bike they would get. Bikes with storied brands like Masi, Cannondale, Fuji, Schwinn, and Louis Garneau, were sorted, recorded, and assigned the night before according to rider height. Thanks to the LAMP coaches the bikes were brought out of storage, inspected, repaired if needed, sorted, and labeled. By Tuesday night each rider was then given his or her bike for the year.
By the time all was said and done, the clubhouse, which was once filled with kids, parents, coaches, and bikes, was as quiet as Britney Spears' dietician. What remained was the feeling of a job well done, a few lone bottle cages and a couple of unassigned bikes.
See you again next year.
Every Thursday night at the Argyll Velodrome, throughout the spring and summer months, Track League (TL!) is where the action is. There are three levels of riders, A (sport), B (expert), and C (elite). Different types of races are held each week, and all groups race 3 times. Instructions are always given before racing so that the cyclists know what type of tactics to employ. A 10 Miler wraps up the evening. Come on down for the 7 PM start - it's exciting! You should dress really warm to watch the racing, or join in and warm up from the inside out.
Clive recently experienced a cancer diagnosis and will complete his treatment in early June. Amazingly, he has committed himself to riding in the Kids' with Cancer charity ride this June - a long distance ride - and raising funds and awareness for these children. Wonderfully, he has met his fundraising goal, but of course you can still donate.
It was an action packed night on Tuesday as LAMP cyclists had both road and track bikes assigned and fit. Thanks to Bill for orchestrating a well oiled commotion of parents, kids, coaches, assistants and lots of bikes. This is going to be a really fun season of LAMP!

It is important to be here even if you have your own bike. We will be fitting track bikes as well, and you definitely want to be ready when we have track time.
I know many of you have been using the website form to meet your Juventus clothing needs. However; every year we do have a clothing night where all the choices are available and try on is easy. As soon as we have a firm delivery date, our clothing night date will be announced. Payment can be made with cash or cheque.
And now for the test: you may notice there is no Tuesday/Thursday night TT series. If you volunteered for these, please email ljberger58@gmail.com with a different volunteer choice. So I guess the test is to see how many of you do this and the people this does not apply to get a free 100%.
